Every person who is signed up for the newsletter is in the drawing for a free 11x14 metal Print. It is ready to hang, and I love how durable they are. If they get dirty with fingerprints or whatever, just wash them off. And this is one of my favorite images!
The funny thing, I almost didn’t get the longhorn. I was photographing the windmill and let me tell you, it was cold and bitter to stand there in the wind. I had to do several shots as the snow coated my lens. I have learned in the rain, to use a lens guard but also, I have a rhythm of painting the lens down, protecting the glass, getting it all ready and like a sniper rising the camera, breathing out and shooting as fast as I can to keep the lens free of rain or in this case blowing snow.
I jumped back in the truck after capturing the windmill by itself. I was sitting there looking at my camera to see if i got the shot and looked back. There was the longhorn come up like a ghost. I jumped out and shot again and about killed myself as the ground was covered in ice. I ended up on my knees in the snow from nearly falling. But i got the shot. You might be surprised (maybe not) at how often I hurt my self-trying to get the perfect shot.
